Red Bull's junior team seems strong but you still have to help me and kryHmen. Don't forget about that :D

Damn it. I was at home last night and up until Sunday with super duper internet so would have been the 1 Thursday I was able to play! Guess I should have checked the forum instead of playing Gran Turismo with Dad

You couldn't of beat me anyway ;) great to win an F1 style race, good strategy, zero mistakes was the key :) I think me and Woki were equal speed but I only had 1 crash, a lag, lost about 2-3 seconds but thats all. If I could drive like that in the F1 League I would be f*** winner! Damn :D

i kinda keep having wrong mod version, wrong track version, wrong showuptime for cups -.-

w/e...if i can test the tracks/cars with the right mod/track/car version combination until wednesday, i will maybe take part in that f1sl. but even only then its a bit of a coinflip...tracks with these cars are partly not so much fun...and if there is fuel in the cup, it makes it even worse for me..

if no one would replace me, i might join some races maybe, but only in tracks i like (which probably wont be many).

You only should download finally version of mod: HERE and all will work correct.

Fuel is not a problem - we are starting with 100% and you don't have to pit for fuel, only for tyres (like in real f1)

singapur i especially liked somehow, even it sucks that you can fly here and there..

Mang tracks are lovely if you bump kerbs irl you fly too.... :p

Why is there even slowdown for fuel? That only encourages that you always drive with 100% throttle to get faster towards the end of the race thats just stupid... :s Or is the idle consumption 100% :)

Trust me, it makes it fun as your car speeds up throughout the race, slows down over the stints.. its an interesting dynamic which I really enjoy :)

Yea but I never use 100% throttle, I always leave gas when braking or is that the same when pushing both buttons together? I always thought you use more fuel then since mike nike always laughed at like 97% for a whole race at TSE... And I think my teammate uses 100% throttle :o

PLEAAAASE reduce slowdown :P

Post by Mike Nike » Tue Feb 28, 2012 9:29 am

just tested race settings, 48 laps, albert park...
after driving without slowdown 40+ laps, driving with slowdown made me start watching the landscape at some point..omg
laptimes started with 33.5-33.3, 2 low 33.3s.. lap 10 33.272...going down to 33.8-34.2 in first 25 laps...
after 24 laps i had 7% energy, 52% fuel...
from 0% energy on laps got faster again slowly...34.2 in 2 lap steps (av lap) 33.85 33.75 33.65 33.55 33.55 33.50 33.37 then 2 crashlaps then 33.34
so..kinda 0.05s/lap faster from lap 26 on or so

considering my current laprec is something like 30.85 or so without fuel, driving 2.4 seconds slower per lap and slower (33.25-34.25) sucks bigtime.

its like a race with 48 laps pace car in front of you...sooo slow^^..cant the slowdown be reduced from 10 percent to 5 percent or lower?

edit:
just tested with 5 percent slowdown, seems "okay" to me :P
and 10 percent in bahrain - not so satisfying, but better than albert park

@pingu
idle consumption is 100 percent, so..there should be no disadvantage for you

No. You either accelerate or you brake, not both. Pressing both buttons together is just a way of making sure you can accelerate a fraction of a second longer before a corner - it doesn't affect fuel efficiency.

What Tijny says then it doesnt matter in the end, but mike didnt you use like 101% in TSE races you said? Or was it just a joke or smt . Because with 25 24 24 24 you could always finish a 3 stopper during cup. Mike we sure got a shot at albert park i hope. Lets do this    I think iam behind on pace on the Mclaren guys and Shyguy though. We will see :)

It doesn't affect fuel efficiency because idle consumption is 100%. When idle consumption is set to a lower value (e.g. 50%), then fuel consumption is affected by driving style.

Right, but unless you're actively eco-driving, the difference between those driving styles is negligible. The braking technique Pingu mentioned really isn't going to tip the scales even when idle consumption is low.

31.226 in Albert Park with no fuel. Can't say it's a bad time, but it's not a good time also. Mike's time (30.850) is way better and sick as usual haha.
